Welcome to the land of legends & myths. Rough, archaic and sublime is how Laconia presents itself. The sparse vegetation is covered in colorful macchia scrub, prickly pear cacti and wild, aromatic herbs. Mani's eventful history looks back on many a glorious event. Today, the long guns are silent, the jatans are well hidden and only a few women dressed in black still know about the high art of eternal remembrance. The region is rich in fortifications, family towers and churches from Byzantine times with their impressive frescoes and murals.
