The sparse vegetation is covered by colorful macchia scrub, prickly pears and wild aromatic herbs. Mani's eventful history, looks back on glorious events. Today, the long guns are silent, the jatans are well hidden and only a few women dressed in black still know about the high art of eternal memory. The region is rich in fortifications, family towers and churches from the Byzantine period with its impressive frescoes and murals.
