The city is located on the back of a promontory that juts out into the Messinian Gulf. On the plateau of the headland is the fortress of Koroni, the city lies inland behind it, and with the center and port north of the fortress.
The old Koroni is best overlooked from the top of the old monastery. A short walk through the narrow alley past stone houses with lovingly landscaped gardens up to the women's monastery, with the Agia Sophia church and old basilica. Down on the promenade we recommend the old corner Kafeneion for a rest and small mezedes (small dishes).
From here you can enjoy the flair of the harbor promenade life and the busy waiters at their work.
